Roger Federer is not the best tennis player
in history
Australian tennis legend Pat Cash
continued to see his compatriot Rod Laver as the best tennis player in history.
According to the former 1987 Wimbledon champion, Roger Federer could not even
equal it, though the Swiss was a great player at this time. For Cash, Federer
is one of the biggest players in the era itself so can not be compared to
Laver.
Federer actually has many fantastic record
when following the Grand Slam as much as 17 times. However, the Spaniard has
not been able to win a Grand Slam tournament for two consecutive times as did
Laver in 1962 and 1969.
"I do not agree with Ferrer statement
some time ago that said that Federer is the best tennis player in history. According
to me, Federer is one of the greats and he stood in his era. He has exceptional
talent, he has all the shots are good and he continues to achievement year
after year produces perfectly. But Laver won more than 200 tournaments in his
career and Federer could only win 80. Lever So obviously still the best,
"said Cash
"It is really quite difficult to say
who is the best, you have to have a very deep understanding of the many
different elements such as strings used then and now, the differences in technology
and other things," he concluded.
